Learning How To Get Hair Volume

How To Get Hair Volume

Learn how to get hair volume that will last starts with an understanding of how hair grows. How hair cycles is unique for humans and I will explain just how to get volume in hair by understanding these cycles.

How To Get Hair Volume

In most hair-bearing mammals seasons play a big role in shedding which usually cycles in waves. Studies conducted on rats and mice for example show hair will shed in a cephalocaudal pattern (direction of growth and development) beginning at the tip of the nose and progressing rearward toward the tail. Also see why does hair grow.

Start With Hair Cycles

Humans are different as each hair cycles individually. This distinction is known as a mosaic pattern. Our scalp hair grows during the anagen phase of the cycle for two to five years then transition to a telogen resting phase where the follicle sheds its hair and does not produce a new hair for 90 days.

When scalp hair follicles undergo pattern hair loss the cycle is modified so that the anagen growing cycle is shortened and the telogen resting cycles are more frequent. Ultimately, susceptible follicles may basically end up in permanent telogen phase which results in appearance as hair loss. Anatomically, the follicle structure remains intact but profoundly miniaturized and can be very hard to see.

How To Get Hair Volume That'll Last

How to get volume in hair has to start with reversing the effects of follicle miniaturization. This requires a proven hair loss treatment. Also I encourage you to the best rated hair loss treatments on the market.

Men with visible thinning hair want to get more volume in hair and will often seek surgical hair transplantation which is based on an intriguing physiological precept which came to light in the 1940's. Here, it was found that hair bearing tissue transplanted into an anatomical region which had been denuded of hair continued to retain its donor identity. In other words, it did not matter where the healthy hair bearing transplant tissue was placed, it continued to produce healthy and vigorous, thicker hair.

This paradigm, which became far more refined as years and decades passed, was used to replace grafts of hair producing skin tissue into zones where hair loss had occurred giving the appearance of thicker fuller hair.

One of the most significant challenges facing hair loss research scientists today is the fact that no animal model for human pattern hair loss exists. By way of contrast, many human diseases are faithfully replicated in animal models -- providing an invaluable insight into mechanisms and potential treatments.

How To Apply Rogaine

A quick lesson on…how to apply Rogaine. Rogaine is the brand name for Minoxidil which is a liquid topical applied to the scalp for hair regrowth. It usually comes in a small bottle with an eyedropper applicator.
*While handling the Minoxidil be sure NOT to get any into the eyes, if so rinse with water right away and consult a doctor if necessary. Be sure to wash hands after each use to avoid any unwanted hair growth.
How to apply Rogaine is really quite easy because the eyedropper applicator has a 1ml line on it to show you how much to apply.
1.    First remove all packaging, and locate the eyedropper applicator and the bottle of Rogaine.
2.    Remove the cap from the bottle of Rogaine and insert the eyedropper applicator.
3.    Squeeze the rubber end and suck 1 ml of Minoxidil into the eyedropper applicator.
4.    Position the dropper in the thinning hair area and lightly squeeze out the Minoxidil onto the thinning hair area. You will notice the Minoxidil is really quite liquidity and will want run down the scalp. *Be sure to apply one drop at a time while rubbing on to the scalp, this will help eliminate too much being applied and having it run down the scalp.
5.    Continue to apply drops of Minoxidil on the thinning hair areas while rubbing it in. Some people use their finger tips and massage it into the scalp where other use the eyedropper applicator to rub it on the scalp as this avoids contact.
Although Rogaine is FDA approved and has been proven to regrow hair it is strongly recommended that you use a hair loss vitamin supplement to trigger the hair follicle into the growth phase while supplying it with the specific nutrients it needs to grow. This is a very strong combination and produces very positive results although clinical studies show that just taking a hair loss vitamin on it’s own can produce amazing results on it’s own.
Men with thinning hair can use either a 2% or 5% Minoxidil solution. The 5% Minoxidil is considered to be Extra strength Rogaine and does have some reported side effects such as itchy or irritated scalp. The 5% Minoxidil is restricted in some countries because of the side effects and can only be obtained through a doctor’s prescription.
Women with thinning hair should only use the 2% Minoxidil because of the report increase in side effects.
There are only a few proven hair loss solutions available on the market today.
These hair loss products will use a topical solution and a vitamin supplement because the combination is so effective.
