Stay Away From Minoxidil 5% and 6%

I see that websites are starting to market Minoxidil 5% and 6%, which scares me, and I’ll tell you why.

First of all any Minoxidil higher then 5% has strong side effects but these websites won’t tell you that. Fact is the clinically proven side effects for Minoxidil are scalp irritation, increased hair fall and changes in blood pressure. If you choose to use a Minoxidil solution higher then 5% then your risk will increase.

There is a reason why Minoxidil is restricted in over 40 countries including Canada and this is because of the adverse side effects. It requires that you see a medical professional to get a prescription before starting this higher concentration.

Secondly the way Minoxidil works is that it increases the circulation to scalp allowing the blood to bring the required nutrients to the scalp and then the hair follicles. If you do not have the required nutrients in the blood then what is the point of increasing the circulation? You need to be taking hair loss vitamins as a minimum to ensure hair growth.

The popular hair loss treatment Provillus for women comes with all natural hair loss vitamins and a Minoxidil 2% solution which has been proven and approved by the FDA because it works. Men in Canada use the Provillus for men pills along with the Provillus for women topical solution (Minoxidil) because anything higher then 2% is restricted and the effects of the Minoxidil 2% are just as effective. They can continue to increase the strength of the Minoxidil but if you choose to use it then you not only wasting you money you are increasing your chances of increased health issues.

Clinical studies show using a higher concentration of Minoxidil only slightly increased the success rate, which is not enough to risk the proven side effects.

Using the higher concentration of Minoxidil (2% or 5%) has caused negative feedback because of the increase in side effects so I always recommend that both women or men stick to the 2% topical because it is safer and just as effective. In this case more is not better, if it were then you would see Minoxidil 10% or higher? You won’t because the 2% solution is all you need to start re-growing hair.

How To Apply Rogaine

A quick lesson on…how to apply Rogaine. Rogaine is the brand name for Minoxidil which is a liquid topical applied to the scalp for hair regrowth. It usually comes in a small bottle with an eyedropper applicator.
*While handling the Minoxidil be sure NOT to get any into the eyes, if so rinse with water right away and consult a doctor if necessary. Be sure to wash hands after each use to avoid any unwanted hair growth.
How to apply Rogaine is really quite easy because the eyedropper applicator has a 1ml line on it to show you how much to apply.
1.    First remove all packaging, and locate the eyedropper applicator and the bottle of Rogaine.
2.    Remove the cap from the bottle of Rogaine and insert the eyedropper applicator.
3.    Squeeze the rubber end and suck 1 ml of Minoxidil into the eyedropper applicator.
4.    Position the dropper in the thinning hair area and lightly squeeze out the Minoxidil onto the thinning hair area. You will notice the Minoxidil is really quite liquidity and will want run down the scalp. *Be sure to apply one drop at a time while rubbing on to the scalp, this will help eliminate too much being applied and having it run down the scalp.
5.    Continue to apply drops of Minoxidil on the thinning hair areas while rubbing it in. Some people use their finger tips and massage it into the scalp where other use the eyedropper applicator to rub it on the scalp as this avoids contact.
Although Rogaine is FDA approved and has been proven to regrow hair it is strongly recommended that you use a hair loss vitamin supplement to trigger the hair follicle into the growth phase while supplying it with the specific nutrients it needs to grow. This is a very strong combination and produces very positive results although clinical studies show that just taking a hair loss vitamin on it’s own can produce amazing results on it’s own.
Men with thinning hair can use either a 2% or 5% Minoxidil solution. The 5% Minoxidil is considered to be Extra strength Rogaine and does have some reported side effects such as itchy or irritated scalp. The 5% Minoxidil is restricted in some countries because of the side effects and can only be obtained through a doctor’s prescription.
Women with thinning hair should only use the 2% Minoxidil because of the report increase in side effects.
There are only a few proven hair loss solutions available on the market today.
These hair loss products will use a topical solution and a vitamin supplement because the combination is so effective.
