Anti-Dandruff Treatment Shampoo

I'm always looking for a dandruff treatment either with an Ion Dandruff Shampoo or home dandruff remedies. It's emberrassing have those white flakes on your clothes, and people notice them right away too. I know it's not a serious medical condition by all means but I want it stopped, so I have been doing some investigation which I will share with you.

I know people say it's a dry scalp caused by not drinking enought water or that it causes hair loss , but this is not the case for most of us anyway although depending on the severity it could be. In most cases a switch in shampoos could be in answer. In my experiance not all dandruff shampoos work either at least not the ones I used like Head Shoulders, Selsun Blue or some of the stronger formulations like, Nizoral.
You need to understand the problem so that you can treat it properly.

What is dandruff?

Basically it is nothing more than dead skin cells flaking from the scalp in excessive amounts. Everyones skin sheds but dandruff can be a mild scalp condition in its own right or a symptom of a larger problem such as a fungal infection, a form of dermatitis, or even an infestation of head lice. These more serious conditions, however, usually manifest with some kind of visible lesions (scales or acne like bumps), red inflammation, and severe itching or burning. If all you see are white flakes on the shoulders of your clothes, a simple
dandruff treatment will work in most cases, just not in mine.

What Causes Dandruff?

The old wives' tale is that dry scalp or excessive washing of the hair causes dandruff. This is actually not the case. People who have oily hair and scalp are much more likely to suffer from dandruff because of a naturally occurring fungus on the surface of the skin called malassezia furfur which eats fats and oils. When the fungus grows too rapidly in the presence of excessive oil, however, it disrupts the natural renewal of cells on the surface of the scalp and the result is the flaking of dead cells present in dandruff.

This is the most normal cause of the condition but dandruff can also be traced to a genetic predisposition, to food allergies, excessive sweating, soaps with a high alkaline content, too much yeast in the system, and stress. Thankfully even when caused by these factors, dandruff should respond to home remedies or to a special shampoo. If a simple dandruff treatment does not seem to be lessening the extent of the flaking, however, some of these other possibilities should be considered and if possible, ameliorated, for instance with allergy testing or a change in
hair care products

My brother told me to try a different dandruff treatment called Ion Dandruff Shampoo, have you heard of it? I never heard of it before but I started using it and my flakes were gone after 5 washes. It reads that you will start to see results after the first use but I did not.

The proper name is Ion Dandruff Solutions Clear-T Dual Action Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and it's description reads that it controls itchy, flaky scalp associated with dandruff, psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis.Great I tried it and it works.
This dandruff treatment moisturizing shampoo is worth a try if your frustrated with you current product.
